Der Klimawandel ist eine der größten Herausforderungen unserer Zeit. Städte und Regionen sind durch Starkregen und Überhitzung hohen Belastungen ausgesetzt. Durchfeuchtung, Überschwemmungen und große Temperaturschwankungen belasten die Bausubstanz. Die Gesundheitsrisiken z.B. durch Hitze nehmen zu. Wie können wir daher baulich auf solche Extreme reagieren, um Städte und Gebäude resilienter zu gestalten? Zu diesem Thema hat das HDA – Haus der Architektur zwei Workshops mit jungen, europäischen Architekt:innen aus dem EU-geförderten LINA Fellowship Programm sowie Studierenden der Universität Stuttgart veranstaltet.
Die Publikation besteht aus zwei Kernen und zeigt jeweils die Ergebnisse der LINA Fellows aus den beiden Workshops „A collection of bioclimatic responses“ (2023) und „The Future of Building - Vernacular + Visionary = Future“ (2024) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Lehrstuhl für Baukonstruktion, Bautechnologie und Entwerfen an der Universität Stuttgart.


Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Cities and regions are exposed to heavy rainfall and overheating. Moisture intrusion, flooding and large temperature fluctuations put strain on the building fabric. Health risks, e.g. from heat, are increasing. So how can we respond to such extremes in terms of construction to make cities and buildings more resilient? The HDA - House of Architecture has organised two workshops on this topic with young European architects from the EU-funded LINA Fellowship Programme and students from the University of Stuttgart.
The publication consists of two cores and shows the results of the two workshops ‘A collection of bioclimatic responses’ (2023) and ‘The Future of Building - Vernacular + Visionary = Future’ (2024) in cooperation with the Chair of Building Construction, Building Technology and Design at the University of Stuttgart.
