Mozart was neither a flautist nor a harpist, but his Double Concerto has become the best-known music for both these instruments. Now its musical text has been prepared for Henle by the star flautist András Adorján, following the autograph score even in those passages where other editions make arbitrary changes. No less a musician than Robert D. Levin has added historically convincing cadenzas as editorial suggestions; the lean and euphonious piano reduction was prepared by the experienced arranger Jan Philip Schulze. Our edition is the first to present the harp part in form of a performance score. This new volume completes Henle’s series of up-to-date urtext editions of Mozart’s surviving concertos and chamber music with flute.
Mozart lui-même ne jouait ni flûte ni harpe, et pourtant son double concerto est devenu l’une des compositions les plus connues pour ces deux instruments. Le texte, édité pour Henle par András Adorján, flûtiste de renom, se conforme également à l’autographe là où les autres éditions prennent purement et simplement la liberté d’aplanir les difficultés. Les propositions de cadences, fondées sur le plan historique, ont été écrites par Robert D. Levin ; Jan Philip Schulze a fait profiter de son expérience la réduction pour piano, produisant un texte sobre mais aux sonorités séduisantes. Pour la première fois, la partie de harpe est présentée ici sous forme de partition. Cette nouvelle parution vient compléter la collection des éditions Urtext Henle consacrées à l’ensemble des concertos et œuvres de musique de chambre conservés de Mozart, où intervient la flûte.
Mozart spielte weder Flöte noch Harfe. Trotzdem ist sein Doppelkonzert zur bekanntesten Musik für diese beiden Instrumente geworden. Der vom Starflötisten András Adorján für Henle herausgegebene Notentext folgt dem Autograph auch dort, wo andere Ausgaben durch eigenmächtiges Eingreifen glätten. Die historisch stimmigen Kadenzvorschläge stammen von keinem Geringeren als Robert D. Levin, der schlanke, gut klingende Klavierauszug vom erfahrenen Jan Philip Schulze. Zum ersten mal wird hier die Harfenstimme in Form einer Spielpartitur vorgelegt. Mit dieser Neuerscheinung liegen sämtliche vollständig überlieferten Konzert- und Kammermusikwerke Mozarts mit Beteiligung der Flöte in aktuellen Henle-Urtextausgaben vor.
